Well my hair is past the shoulder and brown and I have mine layered. I think the first layer is about 4-6 inches from the top of my head.

also maybe try some long curls (like miley cyrus)

go out to ur local drug store and pick up some hairstyle magazines

look through them and see if u like any

also try to match hairstyles to ur head shape
