Ok, here is the problem. I have long curly hair that I straighten on occasion. I use biosilk and a hot iron like the chi. The highlighted parts of hair has started to break off ( I have not highlighted my hair for 6 months now) and the re growth is only 3 to 4 inches long. I don't know what's in for curly hair ( cuts and styles) that can also be straightened and still look good. I am also sick of the color, though natural, I want to try something new. I don't want to have someone else do my hair because no matter where I go or how much I am charged I am not happy with results. They always jack up my hair. Here are a few pics of my hair, please help me with this. Thanks in advance!

You have really pretty curls. My hair is naturally frizzy and i use loads of product to weigh it down so its curly. I know what you are talking about with people ruining your hair. One thing I learned to do is ask a person how comfortable they are cutting curly hair first , it draws up so much. The truth is the best person to cut my hair happened to be black. The lady i go to knows how overly curly hair reacts when you cut it. My advice go in knowing your style. Don't let people influence your choice when you are in the chair. That is when i make my biggest mistake

i have medium length curly hair, and alot of times when i would go get it cut it ended up poofy. i really like my hair now after getting a new type of haircut. i've started getting short layers starting at my chin and it adds curl and bounce to my hair and it looks good when straightened so that might work for you too! good luck!

First you need to deep condition your hair ( make sure it has protein in it so your hair stops breaking off). I always look for someone with the same type of hair as mine when I get it cut. No matter what they say not everyone can cut curly hair. If you are sick of coloring it try a glaze. Basically it's something thats going to just brighten your hair, not color it. You could also get a clear shine put on. Neither of these are damaging to your hair and there is no up keep on them. You do them when you want and there is no line when your hair grows in because it's not changing the color of your hair. Hope this helps a little! By the way curly hair with long layers is the look now.

well if u are sick of the color dye it burgundy (spelling?) if u dont know wat that color is, just go to the salon and ask to see it and straighten it and cut it up to ur shoulders u will look grate! this is exactly wat happened to my sister. and add some layers or just side swept bangs!

Having long hair does not make you look older, thats bullshit. I'm 40 and have waist long blonde hair and everyone says I look younger than I am. Your choice for long or short is a personal opinion. I do think though that height has alot to do with it. long hair can make a short women look shorter it pulls you down. I'm 5'10 I think having long hair balances me out. Go to the salon, most places have these computer programs where they take a head shot of you and try different styles on you. Its fun try it.

i once heard of something called a japanese perm. its supposed to look good on asian girls. if you really want a bold look, give yourself bangs with the japanese perm. but beware! its REALLY expensive! it can range from 300$ to 1000$! it also takes 3-6 hours to preform! if this isnt what your looking for, then i suggest a long and layered look. With bangs that are kind of long and fall at the side of your face.

Unfortunatly my friend is getting married next tuesday and she wants me to do her hair. Does anyone have any great sites to see short hairstyles for weddings. I know there isnt much you can do but she wants curls and of course she has no extra money. (I cannot tell you why she is getting married cause he is as broke as her, and they will be living with her mother afterwards) but thats beside the point. If you could just leave me a link or explain how to do the style. Thanks alot!

by the way the hair is not pixie short but right above the shoulder and in layers. Anything helps.

i personally think curls would NOT be the best style for a wedding. but um you can do a variety of curls in her head at the same time. some of it you can flip. some of it you can curl under. and some of it you cans irley temple curl. i do it to my hair all the time and so many people love it that i end up doing it to their hair.

I was just looking at this for myself, so I share my two cents! Long hair doesn't work the best, if you have long hair get some good layers, but not to full on the sides. Short hair is good, but not too short, around the middle of neck to shoulder length (same for curly hair). Bangs work too, make sure the top of the hair is fuller than the bottom.

i usually straighten my hair for the first day of school, then i curl it for the second, then i try a low pony tail. you could also go for the bobby pined pony tail, where you kinda push up half your hair to make it look round , then tie it in a ponytail. it looks totally cute. i also wash my hair at night, then sleep with it in a messy bun, and the next morning i take out the bun, pinn my bangs to the side, then put the rest of my hair in another messy bun, and it looks tres manifique.

I would recommend that you wear it the way you always do. Why? Because if you get it cut and styled now it won't have time to grow out if you are unhappy with it. Also, if you mess with your hair the first day of school, you will be fussing and worrying about your hair all day long instead of paying attention to what you should be doing.

Half-up half-down. You can leave the up part in a pony or put it in a cute litte bun. If you have bangs or short layers near your face (chin length or shorter) leave those hanging out for a bang effect. This is a cute look, but somewhat sophisticated.

wash your hair the night before-DO NOT DRY-and put it in 2 buns. In the morning, take out the buns, dry your hair upside down and use a little sprunch spray (Aussie). Fluff it a little with your fingers and you're ready to go! (p.s.: I've gotten a couple compliments with this style....and not just girls!)

It is called "American Crew Fiber" Fiber Pliable Molding Creme. Problem is that its like, wax. Do I mix it with water or just like scrape it out and use it. How do you use this junk?

:)Well looking at the website, it looks just like any other hair wax, except better - not sticky and shiny.

Firstly, real important. DO NOT mix with water.

Second, just dip a little, like half a dime-size amount, and rub it between your palms to thin it out and make it a little more workable.

Third, just rub it all over your hair and style. If you want more definition in some areas, put a little more on your fingers and put in on the areas you want more defined, like up in the front of whatever.

Fine hair needs a really good cut to bring out it's best look. If your hair is fine, getting it layered can add body and make it look thicker. Remember, fine hair is not necessarily thin hair. Also, avoid heavy conditioners and styling gels since they bring hair "down" with the extra weight. I use a product called SUNSILK shampoo and conditioner that is specifically to give flat hair a "lift" and it works pretty well.

get all your products from shampoo to conditioner to moose or whatever you use in 'volumizing' form...works for me :) plus BED HEAD has this awesome new product that you put in wet or dry hair and it thickens it...within minutes :)

All the ones I know have several hairstyle books and the stylist should help you decide and let you know if it will work for you. Don't be shy about asking questions and saying what you want and if you are satisfied or not. They want to satisfy you so you will come back!!

So you ever see hair color, light on top and dark on the bottom? What do you think about them?

i'm getting ready to get my hair highlighted, but i do like this type of coloring.. i might do it. But i won't dye my hair blonde on top, just highlight with a lot of little highlights, not chunky ones..

It looks terrible when its black on bottom and bleach blond on top. You are better off if you are only doing the highlights - i'm sure it will turn out fine.

it seems that more natural hair color is the IN thing right now, so anything that is drastic will look.... well.... drastic.

i cant put a lnk put heres the advice dont do a a short layered cut i have thick hair too and in the pic it lloked good but when i got it it made me look old it it curled a lot at the ends so its a lot of maintenence, if you have to get a layer cut get a long simple one.

So that picture above is how i look now. But i want to do something different with my hair. I want to grow it out and dye it a darker color. But i am confused on how i want to do this. here is what i do %26amp;%26amp; i get really scrunched hair:

1. wash hair.

2. blow dry hair until damp, but make sure it is still wet enough to put gell in.

2. the gell that i use %26amp;%26amp; works really well is suave sculpting mega hold gell.

3. use that %26amp;%26amp; just scrunch your hair until you like it. you can always go back %26amp;%26amp; do more.

4. scrunch your whole head: right side, left side, %26amp;%26amp; the back.

5. after you have scrunched it don't brush it or blow dry it anymore.

this gell works really well %26amp;%26amp; makes your hair stay scrunched for hours. it also stays in overnight if you wanna sleep in it sometimes. your hair may look wet when you first put the gell in, but it will get dryer, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T BLOW DRY IT ANYMORE!! it will look really nice %26amp;%26amp; give you awsome waves when it is dry.

Try putting some products in meant for towel dried hair (depending on your type of hair). You can then pull it up into a messy bun, a loose pony tail, a half pony tail (if you have curly hair half pony tails usually dry really nicely) or try simply putting the necessary products in and letting it air dry. Once completely dry you can put it up. Sometimes letting it dry works better since you hair will style better. Personally I like the loose ponytial, the messy bun or leaving it down until it dries. Scrunching it can also work very well; but it requires a lot of products and can leave your hair with build-up over time. Whatever you do, stay away from the brush when your hair is wet. The brush can damage wet hair. Simply use your fingers and a wide tooth comb. I have left you some links to get you started on some of the ideas I suggested (and have personally used and enjoyed).

okay so, i know it looks REALLY bad right now,

like all damaged and stuff.

and it has some really weird colours in it.

i'm going to dye it back normal, (with maybe some low lights? what shades of brown do you think would look cute?) and grow it out longer (unless my parents let me get extensions again) so my layers don't look so trashy-metal-scene.

hairstyle #1: low-side ponytail

1. make a side part on the left or right side, it doesnt matter.

2. gather hair in the back and secure with a hairband that matches you hair color

3. push all of the hair over to one side, like this:

hairstyle #2: the bump

1. take bangs/tapered hair/ just the front part of your hair to the front of the face.

2. braid hair into two low pig tails, make a low ponytail, make a high ponytail, or leave it down.

3. bring hair in the front of the face and bring it straight back, like youre brushing it back to put it into a ponytail.

4. push the hair forward a bit, and secure with a bobby pin or clip, like this:

hairstyle #3: srunching

1. if possible, use a curling shampoo and conditioner. this will boos your style while keeping the frizz to a minimum. i reccomend herbal essences totally twisted products.

2. after washing hair, comb hair out with a wide-toothed comb.

3. apply some scrunching gel or mousse to hair, and literally "scrunch" it. grab hair from the ends, and push it up towards scalp.

4. do this all the way around the head, the results should look like this:

some other ideas are a high sleek ponytail, low pig-tails, adding a headband, adding a ribbon, half up half down, straight and down, the possibilities are endless with an imagination. you can look in magazines for inspiration.

get side bangs for your next hair cut, low maitnence and very cute. i have long hair too, i always put it in a "messy bun" just put it in a pony tail and kindof just pull the rest of the pieces up and put another pony tail around it then just bobbypin the stray pieces up. i also like to french braid my hair the night befor (or just curl or wave your hair in the morning) then loosly put it in ponytails (if you ever get tired of just plain ponytails)

If your hair is always let down, show him something differnt, and tie it up. Tied up hair looks classy, and because its different, he'll know that it's for him. You can tie your hair uo in so mani ways. If your not comfortable with that try a half updo. You can loosely tie your hair in a bun. You could create a poof at the front then tie the rest of it in a pony tail. If you're not into that kind of sixtieslook forget the poof. monce its in a pony tail clip it up. stair hair looks really nice when a clip holds the ponytail up into a high pony tail. You could french braid it. french braids look beautiful with bangs.
